TKPS 's Children's Day Mini Fun Fair 09

Today(30/09/09), my school was organising a Fun Fair to help raise money for some children in a school in Cambodia. It was going to last from 1 pm to 5pm. It is said this particular group of people hope to raise enough money to purchase a solar power stand for electricity ( of course, for a school in Cambodia).

I decided to take part in this meaningful event. When school had just ended, my mother accompanied me to a nearby coffee shop to have lunch first, of course, if not I would starve. Had a plate of chicken rice. Yum! Had some lemon tea too. Then I headed back into school.

I had actually wanted to meet the teacher to discuss over an issue that is direct opposite of "trivial issue" with my parents. But it turns out that she was not free, because they had a meeting every Wed afternoon. So my parents just had to watch me play. Boring day, no friends to play with. I thought to myself. I tried playing some games. First one i played was called "FLIGHT". I folded a paper aeroplane and threw it as hard as i could. But it was a lousy one. It went out of line. But you cannot blame me for that, the aeroplane was folded by someone else, not me.

I tried another game. It took place at the field. Named "WATER WARS". I had to wait a very loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnng time. Tick tock... tick tock... tick tock... tick tock... tick tock... tick tock... tick tock... tick tock... tick tock... tick tock... One hour plus had gone, and yet I was silly enough to wait in the sun to play this game.

Finally, i entered the field. Each of them were armed with water guns. Small one ranged from $0.50 - $2, i think. Large bazookas were about $5. I paid for the small ones. It was fun shooting one another. At times i would run from the ones invading me and shoot my gun and smack them with water everywhere.

I would also sneak up behind them and deliver a surprise to them by greeting them with a blast of water, then I would run away and burst out into laughter that sent shockwaves through the feild.

The real excitement began when my friend came. We squirted shots of water at each other. He was wet with water. As for me, I was slightly wet only. Even my specs were wet with tiny drops of water! Just then, i noticed i was low of water flow. I directed a few more shots of water before shooting myself, then I went to return the gun.

What an enjoyable day for me!

My new badge! I finally got it!

Today at school, we were told that the prefects who were absent yesterday will meet him to receive something at the CCA room. Since I as a prefect, did not receive the thing, went. Actually, I was not absent, but that was not asked, if did, i would have feigned presence. I just did not go and told my friends i would feign absence if i had to.

I always knew that if he asked to meet some leaders(etc), he would call for the absent ones the next day. I told my friends who were also prefects, "Never mind la! Not as if no chance! Mr. Rodger Chua always tell the absent ones to collect it the next day! Take it that I'm absent!" And in fact, it did happen. But i turned rather frantic when i was asked a few questions.

But, still, everything went smoothly. Blah blah...... blah blah.............blah blah.................. Over! So okay, not a problem! And do you want to know what I recived? A badge! I recieved a badge? Hah? Huh? What badge? Oh, for goodness sake! Of course, the prefects badge! What else could it be other than the prefects badge?

I was over the moon. Nonono, I was not over the moon in outer space. It was hard to put it on intially, but i did it in the end. I would know that i had to get it someday, so i was not so surprised. Not saying I'm not surprised, I am surprised, just that i knew this from the time i was appointed a prefect.

I should not be selected......

On Thursday, 6 August 09, my class's PE teacher, Mr Chua came. He told the class that he would select 30/40 pupils to participate tomorrow for Sports Day as a celebration of National Day, Singapore's 44Th Birthday. The rest would be in the hall. Everyone began murmuring excitedly. As for me, I kept wishing to be selected throughout the whole selection process. It came true. I was selected in Team 3. Oh, talking about that, there are 3 teams. Each had an equal amount of 10 participants.
I was over the moon when I was selected. However, I didn' t expect things to turn out slightly bitter and sour. But I mean, things... were tough to endure. The next day, I was feeling a little of tense. I almost lost way when I reached school. 10 to 15 minutes later, I was down at the quadrangle to assemble. We sang several national songs. Sports Day finally started around nine o' clock.
However........................ I had to confess that I did not have a lot of fun. I DREAD IT! Throughout the whole event, I dreaded it. I did not even have 1% of chance to drink even half a teaspoon. A teaspoon, in fact half! Not a chance at all! How much is half a teaspoon?! Not even enough to take medicine. When I ran, my breath strained, and my shin muscles, were pulling. I just regretted it! Not really like that, but I would push all the blame to my stamina bar.My throat was parched. I need water badly, or else I will die of heatstroke. I thought to myself.
Finally, I was back in class, still panting. Maybe I would need stamina boost bars to boost my stamina, perhaps? Finally, I could drink as much water as a billion drops of water. I grabbed my water bottle and poured water as much as half the bottle down my throat at one go. Glug! Glug! Glug! But not enough! Salty water was dripping down. I needed icy cold water. Maybe I would drink some from the Artic. Hahaha...........
I decided to buy a drink from the drinks stall or vending machine at the canteen. I needed one very badly. I left my bag with my great- grandmother before proceeding to buy a drink. Settled down on a Yeo's Lychee drink. One popped down from the vending machine. By the time I was at home, I had almost finished a quarter of the Lychee.
However, I felt happy today.

My Sumptuous Breakfast

Zzz...... I was still asleep when I was startled by someone calling me. I looked. Just only my uncle. After that, I could not get to sleep. Once I wake up, there's no forcing me back to sleep. I was just too tired after all.

Slept too late last night just to watch Garfield 2 Disc 1. An hour or so later, I was disturbed by the phone's ringing. I ignored it. I just needed peace.

Later, it was heard again. I reluctantly climbed out of bed to answer the call. I just knew that if it was not answered, it would call again. What a windbag. Or maybe that person had great- grandmother stories to tell.

It turned out to be my mother. I just knew it! It was not as surprising that she would call at this time. Told her i needed some rest. Then I went back to lie down.

Later, someone was calling again. It was my uncle. He asked me to go down for breakfast. Although I was tired, I agreed.

Went to wash up change into my proper clothes and went down to wait for him. Unlikely that he would ask me for breakfast. Initially, I thought it was very simple. But turned out to be at McDonald's. There, we ordered 2 Big Breakfasts, 2 Iced Milo. Yum! Look at the spread of food on the tables. The grape jam was especially delicious. The black pepper sprinkled on the egg and chicken patty was delicious, but the pepper was not spicy at all. It was a sumptuous one.

I got out from the seats and headed for home. I was very full, I could not hide my stomach. Until now, let me tell you, dear reader(s), I have not even finish drinking my Iced Milo when I started this blog post!

Trip To The SF and SR as a Celebration of Father's Day

Today was Father's Day. I woke up at 10.30 plus to get ready for a special event, 'Father's Day Celebration'. It was organised by the Eunos CC Youth and Women's Group and also Eunos Zone '2' RC. It was to celebrate Father's Day. There was a short ride and cruise on the Singapore Flyer and river, a visit to a Nonya culture museum and a 8-course meal at Kia Hiang Restaurant. There, I made a new friend.

1. 8-course meal at Kia Hiang Restaurant.
2. Cruise across the SR.
3. Ride on the SF.
4. To the museum.

I went down to 616 around 2 quarters after 11.am. A big crowd was there. The population was 160 people. Soon we boarded the bus to Tiong Bahru to have our lunch first. While waiting to enter Ka Hiang Restaurant, I made a new friend. He lived 4 levels away from me, and were about the same height but different schools.

We were still chatting away when we were signaled to go in. There, the 8-course included fish, chicken, tofu and many other things. It was finger-licking good food.

We went to the Singapore River to take a short cruise next. The Sun was blinding and blazing hot. I saw the Merlion, Esplanade and Singapore River.

I had to wait for a while. When I finally stepped aboard the boat, I sniffed upon a fouling smell not long when I sat on the seats. Minutes later, we finally hit shore on the other side.

After a while later, we were on the Flyer. It was relaxing enjoying the scenery. Saw tall buildings, a faraway island and the Singapore Grand Prix track's starting grids and line. There was something I did not like about the Singapore Flyer.

After that we went to a museum. Very lame to me, no ancient displays but Nonya culture displays, and that's what I hate the most!

Later back at the RC, blk 616, we took a group photo. There was a cake. I thought it was real, but not. We exchanged a piece of paper for a gift, a 'muffin cake'. It was delicious. On the top were some cream and toppings, and at the bottom were some muffin. Toppings included some M&M chips. Got a chilling cup of Milo before heading for home. Finished it in a few gulps.
Meanwhile back at home, I decided to try the muffin. The cream was very, very, very creamy. At first my great- grandmother thought it wasn't real.

Trip To Wild Wild Wet

One and a half fortnights(3 weeks) ago, my father took me to Wild Wild Wet located at Pasir Ris, Downtown East. The price for the entrance ticket was expensive! $10.50 for children, $15-16.50 for adults. Including the locker card($2) and parking ($4-6.50) at the E-hub car-park, the total amount added up to $30-38!

After purchasing the tickets for the both of us, we went to stuff our belongings inside a locker. Had some difficulty trying to do so. I was amazed by what stations there were.

I went to try Waterworks. There was a extremely long 'Q'. I tried a hollow tunnel first. It was so dark and long, my hair stood on end. Oh, where were some mini-lights when you need them? When I was midway in the tunnel, I mumbled and thought to myself all throughout the ride: '' When will this ever end?''

After a short moment, I could finally see some lights at the outlet of the tunnel, the splash pool. Without any hesitation, when I reached the end, I landed into the splash pool with a thud.

As it was too late to do anything, even putting on the goggles that initially hung from my neck, I seemed own help to prevent any risks or injuries by quickly shutting my eyes tightly and taking a quick grasp of air as I landed into the splash pool that was deeper than my height. As fast as a rabbit, I landed without delay.

"Help me! Help me! '' I shrieked when my struggling made it to the surface. I spluttered when I tried keeping afloat. Lucky that my father had slid down first.

When my father asked me if I wanted to try again, I declined immediately after he finished his speech. I enjoyed the 'Current Lake' and 'Uglar-Uglar', which means snake in Basahar Melayu(Malay). It was thrilling. I guess that's why they call it a thrill ride.

When I sat on the raft that was inflated with air, I got a kind of feeling that I've went on a ramp and went slightly airborne at some sections when I went on the ride. I enjoyed that thrill ride the most ever, though it was a bit little kind of crazy.

I enjoyed the 'Current Lake' a lot, too. In that, there were several parts that had 'pumps'. The pushing force was very tremendous, it moved me forward, that's right, like a current.

I liked to wear the life jacket that would keep me afloat. I would then lie down on my back and enjoy. Even without it, I could still cope, for the depth was only 1m. In the water, I spotted some particles such as rubber/ hair bands and also one Funky! card that was for using water. To my astonishment, I even found a cover of a watch.

Time passed quickly. We headed backed to land and in to the Men's changing room. That's when we noticed that the towel was lost. My father said, " I remembered that when we came, I hung the towel over the bar. You know, I wanted to put it on the top of the bag, so that it would be easier to get it. Ay-yah, then I forgot to put back." We had no choice, but to dry ourselves by standing under the fan and jump up and down to get rid of all the water molecules.

Sars Song

When I heard : ''Wash your hands, whenever you can, wash with soap, then at least got hope. When you get home, take a bath quickly kiasu a bit, be safe, not sar-ry!'' I just thought it was a poetic song made up from the Sars virus. I doubted it was real.

In the end, curiosity still got hold of me. So, I logged on to the Internet to find out more about that.

Sars song...... I typed. After a short finding, I found the song. It was real. I saw Phua Chu Kang. He was the main character in the video.

Here's the video:

There were a lot of funny parts, too. Some were not even written in proper language!

Where Is My Char Siew Pao Leh?

I woke up one Wednesday morning, (that's on 03/06/09), feeling depressed that my mother was not around in sight. Did I mention that I will die without seeing my mother?

I began calling out to her, " Mommy! Where are you? " It turned out that she was ironing the clothes in the living room. Lied down for a while more before going to wash up and take a shower. Was a steaming hot one that could had me cooked.

I turned the rotatable water thermostat from 'Med' to 'Low' to adjust the temperature as it was too burning for me to withstand it. I wasn't going to let the water turn me into cooked food, food that is ready for carnivores to munch on.

Next stop, Mother's Turn To Bathe... Wahaha... Wahaha... Not at the Mass Rapid Train(MRT) station, but it's my mum's turn to bathe. Not my everyday routine. But my mother's everyday routine. She bathes every morning before work.

Even if she has no work! We've to go shopping, today. I've got 0 percent of interest in shopping...... but I still gotta tag along. Wish there's no magnetism in the world...

But anyway, I still have to do so... No shorts to wear during celebrations. And that is really true. Compulsory to say no. Soon we were ready to set off. I groaned. Hate shopping.

I just simply wore my sport shoes, closed the door and galloped down the six flights of stairs. Then went down to the market to have my 'Half-Breakfast-Half Lunch'.

Want to know why I call it like that? It was already 11 plus, almost noon. I met my grandmother and three of her friends there. I ate a bowl of bee hoon and a char siew bun. I asked, "Where is my char siew bun leh?'', feeling rather confused.

It was such a silly question to ask, the six of us at the table began roaring with laughter. It was soooo embrassing, I even put my right hand on my forehead, still laughing.

I was too engrossed in other things, so that was why I didn't notice that I've finished my bun and totally forgotten about that. What a embrassing incident it was!

My Very First Own Pet

One day, my uncle told me about keeping Robrovski hamsters as pets. I always wanted a dog as a pet, if allowed to. But he said keeping hamsters were less troublesome than keeping dogs as pets.

And less amount of capacity would be taken up. But we could use an empty area that is not used for some time to place the cage.

However, in the end, I decided, to adopt Robrovski hamsters instead. Meanwhile, I logged on to the computer to surf for information to take care of the hamsters on the Internet. My uncle also said that his friend, Yoong Kheong, also a hamster expert would be meeting us at Simei, East-point.

My uncle said he had lots of hamster cages in his house, too. When we arrived at Simei, with my uncle and mother, we met the 'hamster expert' around the entrance/exit of East-point. We went to Pet Lovers' Centre.

At Pet Lovers' Centre, the 'hamster expert', Yoong Kheong, asked me which Robrovski hamsters I wanted, one male and female to keep as a pet. I had a long time deciding. The chosen ones were put in a cage first.

We then went on to select the food, bedding, cage and all the other necessary, needed items and accessories, etc. We took quite a long time to choose the materials. We saw many, many other cages.

At the shop, one of the employees showed us how to fix the cage. I saw many cages that had tunnels extended where the hamsters would climb from one part of the cage to the other part or so.

Soon, it was time to leave Pet Lovers' Centre, after we paid, of course. We headed for home in a taxi. Took us a short while to reach Bedok Reservoir. At the void deck of Blk 615, we fixed the cage.

I peeped into the temporary cardboard box the Robrovski hamsters. Besides the hamsters, I also saw small parts wet(pee) and tiny scraps of shit. My uncle said that he would go to the 'hamster expert's' house to collect one of the acessories for the hamsters.

Trip To Science Centre

One morning, Mrs A. Nathan, our form teacher had some forms to give out to the class. It turned out that the form was meant for a RE trip to the Science Centre for all P3 students. It was scheduled on Tuesday, 19/05/09. I had went to that place before, when I was in Primary Two, that's right, last year. I guess it must have been renovated.

Perhaps that is the truth. When the teacher had gave out all the forms, she said," You see that it is stated that we depart from TKPS at 8.15 sharp. But that doesn't mean you students report to school at 8.15am. We have to take the attendance, go to the loo and ...... if you come at 8.15, you can kiss the trip a good-bye," she warned us.

Time seems to pass extremely fast. Soon it was time to set off to the Science Centre. It was located at around Jurong Town Hall Road. We went by the school bus.

The ride was very long, boring and that caused me to be 'bus-sick' . It would be even worse for me if I was in a taxi.... Maybe I will go by plane...... even worse. It would be less than thirty seconds before I scampered of the plane...Hahaha............

After two right-turns at Jurong Town Hall Road's junction, we reached the Science Centre. What greeted me at the first sight when I scampered of the bus was a 'enormouse', ferocious but fake display of a dinosaur, the biggest dino... the Tyrannosaurus Rex.

Well haha, that didn't scare me, it's just a display. Guess that what I wrote in Paragraph 1 did make up some sense. The last time I came here, this display wasn't here.

At 10.30 am, we went to the Omni- Theatre, where plays were viewed it 3d graphics. I felt very giddy. Soon it was lunch break. I took out a sandwich and began munching on it. Our teacher said that we could go to the Waterworks after we ate if only we got an extra set of clothing.

However, some did not even bother to obey and got themselves drenched in water head to toe, although they did not have extra sets of clothes.

How mischevious! They even had excuses that there was a dryer to dry their soaked clothes.

My Worst Fever Ever

Ding dong ding dong ding dong ding! It reached the dismissal time. As usual, i packed up my stuff, galloped down the stairs and headed out for the side gate exit of TKPS. My great grandmother was at the entrance of the school gate, waiting for me. As usual, i walked home. Took some time to reach home. How tiring! My muscles always ached whenever i carry my schoolbag.

When I reached home, I jumped into the shower, ate my lunch and went to do my homework. I was also told to nap after completing my school homework. Oh-uh, bad idea. Right when I woke up from my nap, I soon felt tightness in my head. The pain was irresistible. I was in a daze. I felt that when i walked, i weighed like twice my own weight and was swishing here and there like drunk.

Not long my grandmother was puzzled why I did not get up and went to my room to check on me. I told her that i did not feel well and was dizzy. She immediately called my mother to inform her about my condition I was in.

I was then told to get the thermometer to checked my temperature. Oh my goodness god! The temperature was 39.6 degrees Celsius. I hope it was not that I got Malaria or got stung by the Aedes mosquitoes.

I felt so unwell that I did not even have enough strength to walk around the house. Well, actually I could, but it was found extremely difficult to do so. Even getting up from my bed was very uncomfortable.

The very next following day, I was taken to the doctor's by my mother. It was then diagnosed that my illness was a fever. Lucky it was not kind of Dengue Fever or Malaria. Seems that my hopes came true!

If it was Dengue Fever or Malaria, I wonder how many days I would be cooped up in my own room!

I was also prescribed three different types of medicine to take at certain times: such as before meals, after meals or before sleep. I hated the medicine that was black in colour and round. It was dry.

I was not able to attend school for a couple of two to three days. My mother said that it was better to go to school as soon as possible, so that I did not have too much homework to do when I resumed school!

During the absent days in school, I spent most of my time lying in bed. I hoped that my absence in school lasted until Thursday or Friday.

Well you could say I was skiving but you are wrong. If I wanted to resume school as soon as possible, it would have to wait til I've fully recovered if not, who knows I will faint in class!

The Day My Exams Results Were Released

It was a humid Wednesday afternoon. It was barely half a period before school ends. And.... the exams results were gonna be released! Well, i wasn't really looking forward to know the results of the exams.

Well unless i got first in class......... Hahahaha........ Who knows... It's God's decision! Actually, i was quite going to look forward...... but it is the holidays. Children are so fortunate nowadays.... Ha ha..... Talking about holidays, i am gonna leave on a vacation...... to the Highlands, Genting Highlands. To enjoy the free 'air conditioning' . To look at the beautiful scenery........ To........... To....... It was almost the end of school.

i had a hard time carrying awards. Huh? Awards? What is that you are talking about? Oops. Forgot to tell you the exciting part. Huh? What exciting part?

It goes on like this:

It was not even ten minutes before school ends. Mrs Amoganathan, our form teacher were preparing to announce the results of our Semestral Assessment 1 examinations. Nerves went down my spinal cord. To my surprise, i got first in class! Congratulations! i even got first for English, Mathematics, Chinese and got second for Science. Congratulations to all winners!

And be happy with your results!

My First 1 Km Jog

It was a dark morning. but the forecast wasn't for rain, though a bit dark. Not the meaning of 'no lights' but you get the meaning because it was only 7A.M.i thought it was perfect morning for a jog, a morning jog.
As the sun wasn't out so i thought i would not sweat. i went to wash up , change into my clothes and trackshoes. i then went down with 2 people of my family. we went to the park to jog right behind Blk 612.
I've barely jogged past the soccer court when i began panting. this occurs often to me because if i don't eat breakfast or drink sufficient water. Now, where did i stop? oh, yes, i panted all way throughout my whole 1 km jog. guess i'm not much of a morning run person. guess i'm correct. on Thursday night, i did not pant or sweat so much as compared to today, Saturday. perhaps the temperature was hotter this morning.
Hahahaha... maybe i should jog earlier. But i think that will be even worse... : insufficient energy!
